Middle

Middle is set in New England, where I photographically explore my relationship with my older brother Chris, my lifelong connection to intellectual disabilities, and the passing of time from childhood to adulthood.

This photo series has taken many shapes since its inception in 2020. Initially, the work was focused solely on my older brother Chris’s athletic journey with the Special Olympics. It then evolved to documenting his life as a person with a disability. But after time making these images together and independently, I realized this project is also about our shared sibling dynamic, the passing of time from childhood to adulthood, and a connection to the land of the New England landscape being a supporting backdrop to our history.

Middle is a life long endeavor. I will always be the middle child in a unique position. I want to continue documenting from my point of view as long as I can.
